Day 1 | Depart Toronto for Havana via a direct flight. Upon arrival in Havana you will be welcomed in the V.I.P. Salon and transferred to your hotel, ( Golden Tulip Parqure Centarl * * * * * ). Day 2 | Buffet
Breakfast.
After breakfast depart on a comprehensive city sightseeing tour of
Havana. Visit the “Cigar Museum” and the Partagas Cigar Factory where
a detailed explanation of the process of production will take place.
There will be an opportunity to purchase cigars directly from this
factory.
A walking tour through Colonial Havana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, takes you down cobblestone streets passing by squares, fortresses and mansions built by the Spaniards in the 16th to 19th centuries. Stop on the way to explore Arms Square, Cathedral Square, the Morro Castle, La Bodeguita del Medio, El Floridita, the National Capital and the Museum of the Revolution. Continue on to Modern Havana stopping at Revolution Square. Lunch at the famous "Bodeguita del Medio". Evening at leisure. |
Day 3 | Buffet Breakfast. Today we leave for Pinar del Rio with a transfer to the Soroa Visitor’s Centre located in the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve. Visit the nation’s largest collection of orchids containing over 600 species. Lunch at the El Salton Restaurant. After lunch continue on to Vinales Valley stopping on way at a unique factory where they make a typical drink of the area made from aged guava fruit. Depart for your hotel and check in. Welcome cocktail and dinner. |
Day 4 | Buffet
Breakfast. After breakfast we
depart for the “Experimental Cigar Station” in San Juan y Martinez
with a stop at “Vegas de Tabaco” - a typical tobacco plantation that
specializes in both types of tobacco growing - under the Sun or under
cover.
An extensive guided tour including a history on the development of the cigar plantations in Cuba and an overview of the area including the various seeds used for the different type of cigar leaves which are produced. Lunch at “Casa 1890”. Continue on to our workshop where the cigar leaves are maturing and where the best are chosen for the production of the various brands of Havanos. Our last stop is the “Vegueros Cigar’s Factory” where you will enjoy a guided tour, a Cuban coffee and a Havano cigar all produced on site. Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel. |
Day 5 | Buffet Breakfast. A day of sun and sea. Depart for a small virgin key on the North Coast of Pinar del Rio Province. Board a small yacht and spend the day snorkeling at the Coral Reef, swimming and sunning on a beautiful white sandy beach. A seafood lunch is included today. Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel. |
Day 6 | Buffet
Breakfast. Transfer to a tobacco farm where only the highest quality
tobacco leaves are
produced.
Only the best leaves will be selected for the best “Havanos”.
A fully guided tour of all areas of production along with dialogue with the local workers provides a comprehensive insight into this unique industry. Take time to enjoy a Cuban coffee and Havana cigar. Lunch will be in a countryside restaurant. Return to hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner with a Cuban party. |
Day 7 | Buffet
Breakfast. After breakfast depart for Havana. Upon arrival you
will stop for lunch at an upscale restaurant - "La Casa del Habano"
(the gourmet shop for cigar shopping) and a shopping tour to "Dos
Gardenias" for last minute souvenirs and Cuban rum and what else -
more cigars. Transfer to Parque Central.
Balance of afternoon at leisure. For your final evening we will depart to the Morro-Cabanas complex. A Spanish fortress where a colorful ceremony recreating the act where an original cannon, built centuries ago, is shot at 9:00 pm. indicating that the harbour and city are closed - keeping out the pirates. Dinner overlooking the harbour at "Divina Pastora". |
Day 8 |
Buffet
Breakfast.
Check out and depart for airport.
